Saint Peter's United Church of Christ began in the late 1950s when a former missionary to Japan began knocking on doors in suburban Reading and inviting interested neighbors to become part of a new church venture.
A little more than sixty years later, we're commemorating that with special celebrations and community outreach projects. It's time for new beginnings!
Keep an eye on this space for news about our mission focus and events for this year. We'll begin by celebrating on Sunday, October 4, World Communion Sunday. Please bring a light breakfast of bread and juice to enjoy as we gather for worship and inspiring music. We will save some bread and juice which, will be consecrated during the service as elements of the Lord's Supper.
We'll have three services that morning, at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00. Please make a reservation for one of the services using the link which we will send by email or by contacting the church office directly.
To help keep everyone safer as we celebrate:
Masks will be required.
Families must maintain a six-foot distance from other groups.
Please bring your own chair.
We plan to worship outdoors but will move indoors in case of inclement weather. Masks and social distancing are required in both settings.
